The Osservatorio Permanente Giovani-Editori decided to ask the more than 430,000 students, who in the 2002-2003 school year participated in "The Quality Information in the Classroom" project , what their needs are and what role they believe the newspaper has to satisfy them. The first part of the publication shows the updates of the results of the research conducted inclasses - involving both students and teachers - during the months of March and April 2003.In particular, the study proposes the students’ and teachers’ behaviors and assessments on the project, three years from its creation.
The second part proposes the segmentation of the students in typological groups already used in previous years, as an important interpretative tool for reading the results and to investigate two specific themes: the structure of young people’s needs and the foreshadowing of the ideal newspaper. The third part is dedicated to the specific topics of this year: the newspaper as a tool for social education and opinion formation.
