Klaas KNOT (President, De Nederlandsche Bank), Luis M. LINDE (Governor, Spanish Central Bank 2012- June 2018), Ignazio VISCO (Governor, Bank of Italy), Jens WEIDMANN (President, Deutsche Bundesbank), have accepted an invitation issued by Andrea Ceccherini, President of the Osservatorio Permanente Giovani – Editori, and will be special guests for the next edition of a series of events entitled “New meetings for the Future”.

This event coincides with the launch of the 2018-2019 edition of the “Young Factor” initiative - an economic and financial literacy project. It will be held on Thursday 22 November 2018 in Florence in the presence of several hundred students from the Italian upper secondary schools that take part in this initiative.

The four Central Banks Governors, who are all members of the Osservatorio International Advisory Board, will be introduced by Andrea Ceccherini, President of the Osservatorio Permanente Giovani – Editori and the moderator will be the journalist Ferruccio de Bortoli.

This meeting is the continuation of a journey the Osservatorio embarked upon, many years ago, with the aims of tackling a civic and social challenge and developing the economic and financial literacy of Italian students.

Past editions of this meeting had seen the personal attendance of, amongst other guests: Jean-Claude Trichet, former President of the European Central Bank, Francois Villeroy de Galhau, Governor of the Bank of France, Ewald Nowotny, Governor of Austria’s Central Bank, Jan Smets, Governor of the National Bank of Belgium and Carlos Costa, Governor of the Bank of Portugal.

The “Young Factor” project was created and is promoted by the Osservatorio, in partnership with major Italian banks - Intesa Sanpaolo, Monte dei Paschi di Siena, Ubi Banca and Unicredit.
