What we do

The Competitions and Special Initiatives are a response to the changing world we live in. With globalization, civic individualism, technologies, and multiculturalism, our society looks very different from what it did even just a few decades ago. It's not enough to simply update schools; we need a Pact between Society and School that strengthens projects aimed at creating active and responsible citizens. This includes reconciling identity and pluralism, and recognizing the variety of cultures present in our territory. 

The Competitions and Special Initiatives of the Osservatorio provide a unique project of independent thinking education that integrates different areas and disciplines. Each competition and initiative contributes to a circularity of ideas and values that should foster sharing and direct young people towards the concrete terrain of solidarity, equality, democracy, mutual respect, freedom from want, justice, and peace. The research, themes, and studies of these competitions and initiatives are directed towards civil participation, which is the complex of activities and actions through which every citizen directs their commitment to the governance of society.
